It really IS time to re-embrace economics and bring back love in business 💚
Do you love business or do you love the planet? I first loved one and then the other…now I love both.
And I choose to be part of the solution…what about you?

Really, LOVE? Really! Love for humanity, love for the planet, love for our children and their children, love for the wellbeing of all life.
Why do we shy away for using the word love in business, whereas love is the foundation of all life, wellbeing, prosperity and growth?

Before going into that, I first have to apologize, or better yet elucidate on why I turned my back, a bit, on business and economics, in the past few years. As we only learn our lessons while watching in the back mirror… After having been ‘Miss Transformation’ for 22 years in a corporate company, I felt a strong call to move more to the social domain and try to do my best for a better world, inspired by the earthkeepers in Down to Earth. It was time to spread my own wings. It was 2016, the SDG’s had just been launched and I strongly felt to open up my world to be of service to this Decade of Transformation. And I see this with a lot of people: for many of us, especially at the beginning of this choice, it is ‘either-or’. You either have a corporate career or you are an impact entrepreneur. You either love business or you love the planet. You either are a student or an activist…And that last one, really opened my eyes…

Last year I joined an event of Sustainable Students Consultancy. There was a really inspiring talk of Volkert Engelsman, CEO of Costa, who asked the 100+ students present, who attended Extinction Rebellion on the A12. I couldn’t believe my eyes: more than half of them did! In that very moment something shifted in me: they are both, both the scientist and the activist, they don’t separate those from each other. I don’t want to stay behind. I want to be part of the solution. I choose to. And as a pioneer I should. So time to re-embrace economics and business, bring in all that I am, with love.

As long as you have this nagging desire, somewhere in you, to bring in a bit more care for our planet in your business, whether you are a controller, cook, entrepreneur, student or CEO. The more diversity, the better 🫶.
